Flower Friday. : : Petunia

What we call our 'flower nursery' came through with their usual selection of unusual petunia colors. This is the latest version in our garden, purchased yesterday.

I will spare the details of my utter and complete frustration with my sewing machine. I was on a roll when the bobbin ran out of thread and in the course of getting ready to refill it, I opened the 'hook driver' compartment to clean out the lint and am unable to put the parts back together. I've done it before with some difficulty but found it impossible to do today without a couple of extra hands. I spent far too long, and got far too frustrated before admitting defeat and accepting the fact that I will probably have to drag it into the sewing machine shop to get it fixed.

On the positive side of things, my knee is getting better. It's still swollen but not nearly as painful. I have, however,  temporarily I hope, become one of those people who groans at the thought of a flight of stairs and the other positive thing is an impromptu dinner invitation tonight with friends who have a very long flight of stairs up to the front door of their charming Berkeley-style brown shingle house.

John had his second 'light show' appointment today and did remember to ask what kind of light it is. I'm pleased that it is, in fact, narrow band UVB light which is what I thought after a bit of research with Dr. Google yesterday. He didn't have to wait as long today but still had to put the pillowcase over his head. And I still wish I had a picture of that....
