One in,one out....

Dry but a chilly wind today.
A Hereford X cow ,K9, calved during the night but the calf hadn't sucked so managed to walk them in to the steading. A wee bit different to some of my Angus X Saler cows who would object to you being within sight of their calf !
Not a good outcome though as she only has 2 working tits and I got about enough milk out them to make a cup of tea !
So tubed the calf with some powdered colostrum plus what little I did manage to milk out and shut them in a pen.
Hopefully the milk will come on to her,but she is another one that won't be getting bulled again.
Went round at lunch time to check on my old pure Limousin that had the caesarian yesterday only to discover she had snuffed it. Bugger. So dead calf,dead cow and a big vet bill to follow.
At least K26s calf was in sucking when I checked them tonight. Hopefully things will go better for it !
