Pears

A beautiful sunny morning enticed me out of bed early. I walked to the allotment and planted four hornbean plants I collected yesterday from a local tree nursery. They are the final part of a small hedge I am creating around my seating area - where I stop to have a rest and a cup of tea between working.

Just next to my bench is a pear tree. I planted it last winter and this spring it is filled with blossom. The plum and greengage trees on my plot are also in bloom so it’s looking very pretty.
