Thimble Morel

Mrs L had  an electrician coming to replace the old fusebox in the bungalow so the spaniel and I had to make ourselves scarce for three hours. We had a long, cold, wet and thoroughly grey walk. The highlight came early on when I spotted this fungus in the hedgerow. I think its a Thimble Morel (Verpa conica), an uncommon species and not one I've seen before.
