Solution

A swim this morning before Hubby resumed sanding and I sewed some more sunflower seeds. (The first ones were cooked in the greenhouse in the very warm sun).

We realised that the birdbath needed to be moved to prevent Minnie stalking the little birds but we couldn’t identify a good place for a plinth. The solution was to make a macrame hanger for it. Time will tell if it was a good idea.
