Head
Back down to Milton Keynes this morning for a bit of shopping before heading home. A glorious, warm and sunny morning, so we stopped by the canal and had a walk along the towpath. It was the first time I had seen the new marina development which is looking rather impressive, and on the way back to the car I took a shot of this sculpture in Campbell Park. The inscription reads:
Head, by Allen Jones, 1990. Head has two dimensional silhouettes to create a three dimensional form. As the viewer walks around, the human form reveals itself. The artist deliberately constructed the piece to encourage visitors to spend time and explore it. Made of corten steel which weathers over time to create a textured surface.
We drove back this afternoon and watched the temperature slowly drop and the clouds start to develop as we got nearer home. Shortly after arriving it started to rain and has been raining heavily ever since. Still good to be home though!
