The return of Lunch Club

For quite a number of years there was a lunch club once a fortnight in the village hall. And then the pandemic came along and everything stopped. However, in recent weeks, there was talk of a revival and yesterday it happened, thanks to the enthusiasm of a couple of younger members of the local community. Half a dozen of us took on various tasks (I chose to make soup - carrot and tomato) and we welcomed fourteen folk for a very sociable couple of hours. At least another eight gave apologies for various reasons so there may be a larger group at the next one in two weeks time. By the way, the  dessert of pineapple upside down cake and custard was yummy,
