Whooper Swans spotted on Errwood Reservoir in the Goyt Valley (Peak District National Park). 23 seen.
The seem to be resting up and keeping out of strong North Easterly head winds as they probably want to get home to Scandinavia or Russia.
Prior to spotting the Swans we visited an impressive rocky outcrop on the Derbyshire Cheshire border called Windgather Rocks on this occasion it provided shelter. More normally the rocks are facing the Westerly winds
