Last chance
I got an email recently from a local garden, Morton Hall near Redditch, saying “ Last chance to see the fritillaries “ or something like that.
I couldn’t resist and went off to see them this afternoon. There’s a lovely meadow with fritillaries, cowslips, daisies and buttercups. It was so pretty.
I didn’t realise the entry included cream tea with homemade scones made by the Lady of the Manor who lives there and designed the garden. Managed to avoid a second scone. A lovely afternoon out, although dull cool and windy still.
Going back in a couple of weeks to see the tulips, although they are very late coming into bloom so the gardeners are getting a bit worried that they won’t be out in time for their Tulip festival. It’s quite high up and exposed there , so they are a bit behind, this year.
