Larch needles

It was hard to get going this morning after being out last night but was fine once I did. Had to head in to Morningside to get a dental xray and then it was back home to gently get on with stuff. 

Love these super soft new larch needles when they appear, always have to stroke them. Was rather puzzled to see that a lot of the new baby cones had withered. Frosts I'm guessing, has anyone else noticed it this year?

Interviewed a potential housesitter this evening, she seems grand, have left her to investigate the area and think about the (lack of) amenities before she commits. May be a bit screwed if she doesn't as we haven't had any other applicants and time is ticking on - fingers crossed. 

T had several hours of surgery today, it went as expected. Hopefully we'll get a better idea of what he's dealing with quite quickly. Bowel cancer (again). He saw me losing my friend to it a cpl years ago (and very quickly) which probably hasn't been very helpful.
