Philosophically speaking !

We took our year 10 RS students to Hull uni’s Philosophy department this morning. Boy did they have their minds blown :-)

After listening to a lecturer for about an hour or so they were posed an aspect of Dennett’s physicalist theory : imagine a time when a brain can be removed from the person and placed in a fluid that will allow its survival and it’s connection to the body it has been removed from. That body can then stand next to the brain and look at it. The question then posed : Where am I? The person who’s brain and body is there!

It was amazing watching them think and discuss!!!
