James flying!

#3 daughter sent me this but I’ve cropped it a lot so I expect on a bigger screen than my phone it will be fuzzy. I just loved how James was flying to get a try. He’d told me recently he wanted to do football instead but I think that would be a shame as he really seems to have a good eye for rugby, seeing when to pass etc as well as being nippy to get over the line himself. Rugby might be back in favour after yesterday though - at the drama club last week he made friends with another boy his age and he turned up at the tournament yesterday - they were both delighted to see each other again. Turns out he goes to RGS, the most exclusive private school in the area with a very competitive entrance exam requirement. (On top of a lot of money requirement, though some scholarships are given - Ella’s friend whose mum works in the Chinese takeaway has got one after not being out to play all year. Every spare moment is studying which is sad I think. I’d hate my grandchildren to have such pressure.)

It was the U3A AGM today and it was good that a bunch of (comparative) youngsters agreed to be on the committee. I can’t believe we have been going for 13 years and have 146 members.

This afternoon I walked via Westhills and called on Hazel as I went past her house. She’s recovered from Covid for the third time. I am about to try to book a booster. Apparently if I google how to get one it puts me onto the website.
