Inspired by the letter box hunt.
According to the Letterbox Study Group, around 800 different postboxes have been identified. So the interest should keep me going for some time.
My research tells me that this one probably dates from King George VI’s reign. That is, following Queen Victoria in 1910 until he died in 1936. Apparently he favoured the simple design photographed here. It rather appeals to me.
