My Racket Ball Opponent - Tim

It's Friday so it must be racket ball.

Tim and I have been playing squash and racket ball for several years now. When we started, it was just squash and he used to wipe the floor with me every week. When we started playing racket ball, it was pretty even, but I had a slight edge. In recent years, either I have improved or Tim has got worse because I win most times at both games. I suspect it is a little bit of the former and a big bit of the latter.

Won again tonight. I kind of miss the old days. He made me work harder and that was part of the pleasure.

Tim knows he needs to shift a bit of weight and is always trying. This week he has been keeping a record of everything he eats which if it is accurate, isn't very much. I suspect there are 2 issues with this latest strategy:

1 - He is cutting back because he is keeping a record, so he is not really identifying where he goes wrong normally
2 - Knowing Tim, he will keep meticulous records but do little to change his eating habits. The record keeping is not what gets the weight off Tim!

I think he needs to forget all the faddy diets and find himself a nice lady friend to settle down with. If he's anything like me, boredom/loneliness leads to snacking which leads to weight gain. So Tim, if you read this, take my advice my friend - you know Jenny has a thing for you :-).

My new boss sent an email out today announcing to his direct reports that I would be joining the team as of July the 1st. Several replied to me welcoming me to the team but one included the statement 'looking forward to working with you again'. I haven't a clue who he is - how embarrassing is that going to be.
