Young love

I’ve noticed this little black car likes to park very close to Yellow Dog, so I asked him if there was something going on.
“No. What makes you think that?”
“Proximity.” I said.
”She’s just a good friend. We have interests in common.”
“Like what?”
“We are both very interested in road signs. It’s a pity you aren’t.” Feeling that there was no answer to that, I retired to my flat.
 
An interesting Scots word is oxter, meaning armpit. My mother used this term and passed it on to me. It is also used in the north of England I see.
