Slaidburn Bridge
A lovely sunny day so we set off to enjoy it. We drove through the Yorkshire Dales to the Ribble Valley and back home via the Trough of Bowland.
We stopped off in the village of Slaidburn for a stroll - this is Slaidburn Bridge which crosses the River Hodder by the village green
It's a Grade II Listed bridge, built in the late 18th Century (and later widened) to replace an earlier crossing which was recorded as being 'dilapidated' in 1642.
(If any Blippers are lovers of Brass Bands then you will be familiar with the very popular march 'Slaidburn' which was named after the village and written for the Slaidburn Silver Band).
