Student Art Show/ Haiku

Once again it is the student's showcase at the Blue Hill Library. This is just a fraction of what is up on just about every available wall. It was very enjoyable to wander around and look at everything. Just to clarify, none of these are from my school but from a bunch of small towns around Blue Hill. This is the area I live near.

What a day. It is very warm the thermometer in the sun reads about 77F. It will cool a bit  tomorrow which is fine. So we've made it to April break. Whew!!!

April is poetry month and the kids in my class have been writing a lot of different poems. Today they finished their haikus. They really did a wonderful job on them. I've included my student's poem in the extra. He asked me to look up a sakura tree for his picture. I had no idea what sort of tree that was or if it was a made up one. He showed me on my phone and lo and behold it is Japanese for cherry blossom tree. I learned something new today! So he drew 6 cherry blossom trees over his tiny round hedgehog. If you can't make out all the words here it is:
Little Hedgehog
My favorite hedgehog
in a cute little round ball
light snoring, asleep

I came back from lunch and it was all finished and looked so good. A lot of the kids had really nice poems. A testament to their great teacher :-)
