The Scallop
The Scallop on Aldeburgh beach. Its stands alone on the long stretch of beach and draws a lot of visitors and photographers.
Created by Maggi Hambling, it is a tribute to composer Benjamin Britten who lived and was buried in Aldeburgh. The writing around it is a quote from his opera, Peter Grimes " I hear those voices that will not be drowned".
