An interesting find in the Outdoor Shop in MacArthur Glen, to swiftly assess the potential for a Lyme Disease infection when bitten by a tick.

 Apparently one removes the tick using the remover provided, then send the tick in the provided prepaid envelope to the laboratory which will quickly test it for the DNA of the causative bacteria (Borrelia). The result will be sent by email and, if positive, this can be presented to one's GP for a suitable prescription and thus prevent an infection developing.

Surely better than waiting days for a skin reaction before seeking medical attention.
