Swim Loweswater

Perfect Spring weather for springing into cold water.
Actually, with warm sun on the surface all day I think the temperature was slightly higher than it has been. Strangely, as I've noticed before, this slight raise promotes shivering, something I haven't experienced since last Autumn. I think the numbing cold of winter water somehow causes the body to by-pass the shivering stage, perhaps by congealing the skin and fat layers very fast and then warming them up rather slowly when you get out. Anyway, the wild-cherry blossom, a reed bunting in the willows and the sun shining over Burnbank fell all conspired to make it a delightful swim - although it was difficult holding the camera still enough to take a picture.
