Whipsnade Zoo

A surprise Easter holiday treat for the granddaughters today…a visit to Whipsnade Zoo! Not too far from where we are staying in Bedford.

We spent all day there….walking for miles around the park.

We felt that some of the enclosures seemed a little small and uninspiring, but on the whole we had a fab day.

We managed to be in the restaurant during the lunchtime monsoon, in the play area during the afternoon deluge and in the butterfly house during the hail and thunderstorm, so we stayed mostly dry! It was very windy and quite cold though.

The photo is of a wolverine that posed briefly on a log. Hard to choose one photo from the day, not much time to process in our hotel this evening! I have added an extra of a baby rhinoceros with its mum :-)
