Gladiolus Illyricus … or is it?

Walking to a beach near Sant Tomàs , Menorca and we see this field of wild flowers with the star being as title.

But we’re not sure . According to the ‘ flowers of Menorca’ they are found in ‘ dry places, uncultivated fields, flowering April/ June. All check.

But…. Anyone out there know better?
