Caledonian Canal
Today we left our friends' house in Portree on Skye to go home. Our daughter drove down from the Black Isle to meet us for a late lunch at Fort Augustus on the Caledonian Canal.
What a great outing! This is the view from our cafe table. One small three year old boy could watch the boat going through the lock, the road bridge opening and shutting, and talk to the greedy duck looking for crumbs.
Not to mention eating ice cream in a cone.
The old barge has been converted to take holidaymakers on adventures, with a sailing dinghy, stand up paddle boards, canoes and a rib stored on deck.
