Big smoke

Today we didn't take a single train. Instead we made the most of the sun and warmth and tramped from our hotel to Ueno Park after slathering on the factor 50. There we swan pedalo-ed on the pond, went to the zoo (not pricey and with lots of shade and good food), saw the outside of various university buildings, museums and galleries and generally strolled.

Then we walked the long way home via a vast toy shop. Our feet are sore! Near on 18.5k footsteps according to my phone.

Last of all, we did a short walk to a local ramen place that just does various forms of chicken broth and noodles. Delicious.
