Wood Anemone
The cats kept me from sleeping in, but the morning was lovely and I spent a few hours in the garden.
Later, I drove to my mother’s house again. She’s slowly getting better, but it’s still painful to see her so wobbly and weak.
These wood anemones are growing in her garden. The garden is very close to the actual forest, and these wild flowers always were among my father’s favorites.
I can still remember how happy he was when the first little anemones appeared in the garden under a birch tree, self-seeded, in the 1980es. By now they have spread to many places in the garden, forming flowering carpets in every spring. I always think of my father when I see them.
