The American Years

The third edition - with more oral histories and information - of Andrene Messersmith's book on the American presence in Dunoon from the establishment of the Polaris depot ship in 1961 until its removal in 1992 was launched in the excellent independent Dunoon bookshop, "Bookpoint" at lunchtime today.

It is published by Derek Roger who used to run Argyll Publishing from his house in Glendaruel  and who is seen here listening to one of the contributors , who have provided much fascinating and sometimes moving personal histories of that significant period.
