You can't judge a book by its cover
Or a candidate for election (any election) on the basis of the promises made.
What's left to go by then?
Politics and elections in general seem to be nothing more than a complex exercise in marketplace analysis, product placement and beauty pageant.
I mean, does anyone believe in any electoral promise anymore? I thought not.
Elections are just a mere ritual void of substance where one will vote for the best looking candidate, with the best diction, speech writers, PR team, image consultants and most importantly cash reserves (or rather investors willing to bet on him/her, a bit like a horse in the Grand National but with even more suits and hats and champagne events and finger food).
There is the odd exception to the rule though...
Anyway, today we have Dave posing next to his poster. The man and his image. The candidate and his promises...
And I am not judging the book by its cover, hell no, I'm not even voting in this one.
