Long ago drying

The old town of Enkhuizen used to be known as Herring Town and had a large fishing industry.  This is how the herring used to be dried. That was before the dam was built across the Zuiderzee and turned the whole of that large expanse of sea salt water into a fresh water lake.  The little town is now a very different place but has become a popular heritage sight telling the story of a culture from the previous century.

A relaxing day including a return to Enkhuizen in the afternoon to collect a lady who got left behind.  She had also had trouble checking in at Birmingham airport and got lost at Amsterdam airport .  Hopefully more people will keep an eye out for her tomorrow.
