The Great White Metal Way, Aylesford

This huge white metal fence marks the edge of yet another huge housing estate being built very near where I live. We are just being swamped by them and there is nothing local people can do to stop them. Everything from the road network to things like doctors surgeries are just not there to support this type of large scale development but the housebuilding companies have such power that stopping any of it is nigh on impossible. Of course now they don't call them housing estates or even developments but the rather hilarious name "collection". So this new collection features "finely crafted" three, four and five bedroom "country" homes none of which sound in any way affordable. The next village along from ours is battling against another housebuilder who wants to create so many homes it will more than double it's size. I don't understand how this is acceptable and how ordinary people are supposed to fight against it. It's all rather depressing. The extra image is of the same white fence shot from a different direction.
We still managed to have a good day which started with a longish run of 3.5/ 4 miles. I must say by the end of it I was ready for a hot bath and a bit of a snooze. The rest of the day involved a weekly food shop and then just some down time with the papers, a photography magazine or two and some telly.
