Tanuki

The tanuki is a symbol of good luck and fortune. One of the reasons for this is because the word "tanuki" is said to mean "lucky." Often used to indicate a warm welcome, these cute characters are often found outside Japanese restaurants. Not often to be found lining up randomly in the shrubbery!
