Purple Motorcycle

Texan Ranger bush, Leucophyllum, also called Texas Sage, Texas Ranger, Cenizo, Barometer Bush, Silverleaf, Purple Sage, is not a true sage. It flowers in response to changes in temperature and humidity.

Our relative humidity has been very low lately, below 10 percent, and temperatures are now in the upper 90's. The plant is supposed to respond to rain but we have not had rain for a couple of months, so the temperatures may be causing blooming. Many plants in the area are blooming so it must be caused by atmospheric conditions.
