Tarragon

I grew tarragon from seed for the first time last year. It lived in a pot on the warm balcony, and I harvested and dried all the growth about four times. It was wonderfully aromatic and flavoursome. I put it in the greenhouse to see if it would overwinter and forgot about it - it wasn't watered for months. Now we have a healthy crop of new shoots; I will let it grow a bit more before I cut it, unless we want some to use fresh. I've bought another pack of seed too, which will fill a second large pot.

I've continued to clear and clean the greenhouses today, as I'm running out of space for trays of seedlings in the house and want to sow more. The greenhouses are unheated, so I'll keep the tender plants indoors until the nights are less cold, but I have brassicas and leafy plants which will be fine out there. We had a heavy frost last night, and today the promised sun did not appear: it's been disappointingly overcast and quite chilly all day.
