Dutch tales

Downstairs

A little over two years ago my downstairs neighbour died. She didn't keep her garden well. But in springtime there were loads of spring flowers. A joy to see. After her death the house remained empty for a while and the front and back yard turned more or less into jungles. The landlord had it emptied out.

A little over a year ago my new neighbours moved in. They removed what was left (hedges) and removed the green that had come back. In summertime they had to remove it again. They put in three tiny new plants. But the rest of the garden turned green again. I see now tulips blooming both in front and at the back of the house. Victory to my old neighbour!
