Mistress Talpa and friends have spent the morning erecting the annual daffodil crucifix outside the village Kirk. 

According to Professor Google, some would have it that on the night of the Last Supper, the daffodil appeared in the Garden of Gethsemane to comfort Jesus, who was saddened to know of his betrayal by Judas Iscariot.
