More successful....

.... than our first attempt.  W hasn't tried again since then, but having bought a new frying pan, and a fancy infrared thermometer (seen in the background) to monitor the temperature of the pan, he decided that today was the day.

Definitely better than our previous attempt, but we think the yeast was a trifle elderly, so they still didn't rise very well.  W is determined to succeed - he'll try again with fresher yeast.

I had another ride on the static cycle.  My stamina is not what it was when I last rode (many months ago!).  I also spent some time reorganising books - at least the fiction and non-fiction are now on separate shelves.  And there's a moderate pile of fiction that can be read and then disposed of.
