On The Job

My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

Both Manda and Shenée started their new jobs today!

Manda has a job as "Admissions and Services Advisor" at Le Cordon Bleu school. It is perfect for her, and in fact had mentioned trying to get a job there two years ago when she first arrived in the country.

She put a finger-gun to her head and pulled the trigger when I saw her later. "It's so BORING," she complained. But she conceded this is just the start and once she's up to speed it will be more interesting. Also she gets free food.

"Oh my god one of the chefs brought me a chocolate croissant and it was like HEAVEN," she said. She also taught us how to pronounce "Cordon Bleu" properly.

"They all pronounce it 'Cordon BLUH'," she told us.

Like "BLUH! I just swallowed a bug."

BLUH.

Jefe is excited. Mainly because the school is two doors down from Taco Bell. So much for Cordon BLUH.

As for Shenée, she began work at Objective. You may be able to tell from the sheer amount of Objective promotional merch she is wearing in today's picture.

"Does that say 'Obliviion'?" asked Jefe.

Objective, if you did not know, provide electronic document storage services for government agencies and other places that need to ensure document retention and security in line with legislation. Scottish Government and Kainga Ora both used them*.

Shenée's texts today seemed really happy. I have actually been into the Objective offices when I worked on Project Laura last year. It is a really smart place to work with a fully-stocked kitchen full of nice stuff and nice decor, and good people. I think she'll be a big hit there.

As for me, Briar engineered a meeting between me and my ex-manager at Kainga Ora. He tells me they are starting a major Salesforce project soon (June/July) and would love to have me back.

"I just need to get some approvals, but it's looking likely," he said.

WE ARE GETTING YOU BACK, texted Briar.

Let's see.

S.

* Which means that theoretically Shenée could be inviting some of the people who bullied her out of Kainga Ora into her new flash office where she is a Senior Project Manager making way more than them. Not that I would love this prospect at all, oh my no.
