Five Eggs and a Carrot

And a bunny of course.  Easter is fast approaching.  The large white egg in the Faberge style and the small green glass egg I got in St. Petersburg, Russia many years ago.  I was there at Easter time and that year the Orthodox Easter coincided with the western one.  It was an amazing sight to see the candlelit parade around one of the many magnificent cathedrals in that city.  Why eggs at Easter?  "Eggs represent new life and rebirth, and it's thought that this ancient custom became a part of Easter celebrations. In the medieval period, eating eggs was forbidden during Lent (the 40 days before Easter) so on Easter Sunday, tucking into an egg was a real treat!"  The small pink one is a needle felted one I made a couple of years ago.
