This is J with all the ingredients to make faggots.
Faggots are a traditional dish in the U.K but especially in South & Mid Wales. They are made from meat off cuts especially pork. The original recipe that J uses is adapted from my great- grandmothers. He uses pigs liver, pork mince, apples,onions & bread. He seasons this with sage & ground black pepper.
The dish saw it's popularity with the rationing during WW2 but has become less popular in recent years. Faggots are usually home made or can be found in traditional butchers shops, although larger supermarkets generally stock the Mr Brains brand of mass produced faggot. They are best served with mash & mushy peas. The finished product is now cooking in the oven & the smell is amazing. I cant wait to sample them. The wooden platform that you see in the blip J made, as modern worktops are too thick to clamp the mincer to. He actually makes about 25-30 faggots which are about 2" square. He makes enough for about eight meals.
