Everything everywhere
My student this morning brought his electric guitar and amplifier because he couldn't figure out how to handle the settings of the amp. I can understand his frustration but thanks to my years at the Folk-highschool working with these kind of things, I could help him over the threshold. He's the same generation as myself but hasn't followed the digital developments where one button can do several things. After that we had a successful lesson where he found out he could play baselines as a part of chord playing in a song he wanted to learn. Nice to be a hero sometimes.
The afternoon came to be a slow one. Reading, computering, idling, having another cup of coffee... when I really need to get going with learning a couple of songs and writing an arrangement. I pushed it in front of me until tomorrow, I think I needed the time for myself. In the evening I was invited to Ove, the cellist, for a film-evening. We saw "Everything everywhere all at once", I won't even try to explain it but full hilarious action goes on for over two hours. According to some analysis it all comes down to the complex relations between a mother and her daughter. See it.
We had some snow today, my only blip was to record it before it goes away.
