Marjorie's ramblings

Riggwelter?

It rained for nearly all of the day.

I hoped to go for a short walk before the rain began, but it beat me to the start of the day.

There were quite a few images to process from yesterday, plus a few phone calls to make and bills to pay, so I was not bored.

This afternoon, I drove to Letah Wood. This is where the native daffodils bloom. It was extremely muddy and I had left my walking poles at home so I was not keen on going too far.

The woods were very quiet and no one else ventured there for a walk. It was lovely to be there. The wild garlic is in bud.

There is a lot of storm damage to trees. This one particularly caught my eye. I found it made quite a distressing image.

The wood is managed by The Woodland Trust and there was a lot of evidence of recent work to make the place safe for visitors. I will go back as soon as possible to see this year's daffodils.

I called to see the other Marjorie. She is in a lot of pain and still waiting for an NHS appointment with the musculoskeletal team. Tomorrow she is going to see Jani, my wonderful physio, and I hope this is a helpful session diagnostically.

Mum is on the first day of a complicated regime of eye drops - even more complicated than before. Phew!

PS Riggwelter is another term that is unlikely to cross the Atlantic. It refers to a sheep stuck on its back. They need help to get on their feet. It also refers to a splendid beer from the Black Sheep brewery!
