Gilligan’s Galloping Carousel

We went to York Castle Museum today..something to do on a wet April day! We met up with our daughter and granddaughters at Askham Bar Park and Ride to get the bus into the city…we were first on board so the girls got to sit on the front seats upstairs…great excitement! We also got the same seats on the return trip!

This fabulous horse drawn, hand cranked carousel was made in Yorkshire around 1905 and was operated by Mr & Mrs Gilligan around York and the wider county for 40 years.

We all finished up back at our house …for the girls to play with some toys and let off a bit of steam!
