Gorse (and the adder)
Another glorious Spring Day, and this afternoon another walk on the Humbleton round. The gorse is in full flower, and in the sun it was warm enough for its coconut-y scent to fill the air.
We haven't seen an adder for a few years. There have been several reports recently of local sightings, so MrM was hopeful of spotting one today. To that end we made a detour to the top of Brown's Law, but no luck. However, on the way down to Humbleton MrM saw one (extra) curled up in the grass beside the track. It had its beady eye on us! (Not a great photo as I only had the phone camera, and had absolutely no intention of getting too close to the snake!)
ION: Been on tenterhooks for the last week, since the couple who spent a huge amount of time viewing the flat put in a verbal offer, which we accepted. After that it all went quiet, with no formal offer letter until this afternoon. Seems it's going ahead, albeit slowly...
