Moving day

5am alarm, although I had been awake since 3 after sharing a bed with fidget pants. We got the ferry at 7 and ended up sitting, almost serendipitously, with the new family taking over from us who were also going off island. We got some supplies in Lidl and drove down to Cannon’s parents in Worcestershire, stopping at Annandale for lunch. My dad, S and I were in the van and Cannon was close behind in the pickup with a trailer. S hasn’t stopped talking from 5am until the moment she fell asleep a few minutes ago. I’m in no rush to do that journey again with a 4 year old. The best part of the day of course was arriving at our final destination to be greeted by 2 collie puppies that we weren’t expecting. Cannon’s grandparents and parents have had pairs of collie sisters for as long as he’s been alive. The previous pair died last year and we didn’t think there would be any more! S was absolutely delighted and played with them all evening, Jess too. Cannon has taken a turn this evening and seems to have the start of the post covid ear infection virus I had this week. He’s very stressed out at the moment and I’ll be glad when all this moving is over and he can relax.
