Green Bee
I was admiring and photographing our Flame Azalea flowers when I noticed a couple of these tiny (1/4 inch long) solitary sweat bees touching down very briefly on the flowers' stamens. Aka 'green bees' mostly nest underground and some burrow into wood. They are attracted to human perspiration, hence the name 'sweat bee'. These beautiful metallic green bees have been one of my most challenging subjects to photograph! They are very small, fly quite fast and settle on the flower for only a second or two. Check the *extra...for a closer look.
Wishing All of Us a Peaceful Week. m
