Stewarding at the Hay Festival

So here is a first glimpse of inside the festival site and the stewards talk. Unusually sunny - what is it about festivals and rain!!
Top left is Peter Florence, the festival director, local boy. Bottom right is the group wanting to steward this year. The site is even bigger this year and the meeting was for orientation and running through the policies and procedures - fire, lock down, child protection etc. There are also inductions to be gone through on the first day. The background in the photo is the empty seats in The Wales Stage and other scenes from the festival site.
Tomorrow will be interesting. I am probably being followed around by a crew from Midlands Today 'a day in the life of a steward' , what a day to pick! 2500 school children with free tickets to see events. I may need ear plugs.
