Farewell

Today we said goodbye to A - one of our best members of staff. She had been in the library service for 40 years! The library she was in charge of was always welcoming, and fun. They had a lot of events when her and the staff dressed-up - they even managed to turn the library into the Oxford Pub for a Rebus evening.. 
Her leaving do after work was attended by so many current and ex-colleagues, including people I hadn't seen for years! I just managed to catch a photo of her during her speech - it was quite emotional. She spoke about what makes the job special, about the people she met as kids who now bring their own kids to the library.. Sadly, none of the managers were there to hear this message.  
I wasn't able to stay very long because Django had been alone in the house since early this morning and needed a walk, but it was really nice to catch up with so many people. A. will be missed!
