Oops!
I did it again. Impressed by the bargain of Mandy's new bike I concocted an urgent need and entered the card details on the Evans website and it was promptly delivered. OK, the forks were on backwards and the chainset had to be taken off to free the chain jammed in the chainwheels. And there was some play in the headset and the front wheel needs trued. But those are easily fixed.
What it really needed was a little pimping by nicking bits from other bikes. It's like big kid lego - building them up, taking them apart, creating hybrids from different bikes. The Croix de Fer donated its rack and mudguards. The old Dutch bike donated its Brooks saddle and handlebar grips. The shopping bike handed over its saddlebag.
This was all possible because I swapped Wednesday for Friday since I need to work on Friday so the afternoon was all mine.
As you can see, the poor boat's in a really bad way. Looks like it's getting kicked around and broken up, which will only accelerate.
