A host of golden Daffodils.
As I said yesterday we should be looking at how the Daffodils are doing at Glencoyne down the lake. The day wasn't very promising but nothing ventured nothing gained, we went down in the afternoon. It was slightly showery but we managed.
It was pleasing to see areas roped off to allow the daffs to regenerate. Notices also pointed out the plants were suffering owing to illegal camping, fires, etc. The roped off areas made photography a little more difficult, but with care, you could find a view which avoided them, or at least weren't too obtrusive.
In case anybody isn't familiar with William Wordsworth these Daffodils are the descendants of those that inspired him to write the poem "I wandered lonely as a cloud". The first verse of which is:
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the tree,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
