Davos Lake
It was a dull morning with flat light but at least it was not snowing. Gavin did some work this morning, then we went for a walk around Davos Lake. The snow was melting quickly and it was very slushy. We could not believe how low the level of water in the lake was, the water is used to make artificial snow and can drop by about 30m in the winter. Apparently 600,000m3 is used for snow production each year. You can see how low the level is here.
After our walk we went to a cafe for a light lunch of soup before going home. By now it was raining and all the snow has been washed away from the roads and hard surfaces.
Our friends arrived at 3.30pm and after unpacking we went for a walk over the golf course. By now it was sunny and very warm, 11C when wearing winter clothing is warm.
We spent the afternoon chatting and tonight we are going out for supper. It has been lovely catching up and hearing all their news.
