Mother and Daughter

A family of Sandhill Cranes.  Dad was just out of the picture.  

A while after taking this I came across a notice saying that you shouldn't get within 25 feet of these birds.  I inadvertantly broke the 'rule'  just a tiny bit. 

The Extra was taken at a visit to a hospital. Not just any hospital but a trauma center for Birds of Prey.   They do some great work there.  This Eagle was just about fully recovered and close to being released back to the wild.
